FS: Violano in Florida

For sale: Violano, serial no. 1918, single violin. Last played in
1976, does not play now. Has not been restored, needs complete rework.
All components are there including original converter. Two weight arms
are disintegrating. With two music rolls (the first few turns have
disintegrated on one roll). Some wood parts in lower front are loose,
all beveled glass is intact.

I bought it in 1962 from family friends in West Virginia, the original
owners. It had been in storage since it was last played in 1929.
Rural electrification came in 1929 and they decided to not convert it
for AC operation. Although I grew up with their children, I did not
know the Violano existed. It came to light when I visited there and
asked an uncle if he knew of a player piano I might buy.

You are probably aware of the unit of similar description that closed
over $15M on eBay recently. I intend to offer it to interested parties
for direct sale before listing it in eBay auction. If interested,
email questions and for pictures. The unit is in North Florida.

Paul B.
