Chickering Duo-Art with Ampico B Drawer
By Craig Roothoff

About 20 years ago I rebuilt the pneumatic action of one of these
pianos. It had a plain case with a blonde finish. The tracker bar
had not been adapted from an Ampico -- it was the same as on any other
Duo-Art (except sized and machined for the drawer installation).

Other than the tracker bar, the drawer was pure Ampico B. Other than
the drawer, everything else (stack, pump, expression box, etc.) was
Duo-Art. The expression box was the common type use throughout most
Duo-art production, not the later fan-fold type.

This was in the San Diego area, so it might be the same piano that
Diane DeTar has come across.
