FS: 5'4" Knabe Ampico Model B
By David Winkelblech

I have a Knabe 5'4" model B Ampico grand for sale. I purchased this
piano with the intention of restoration and it is already in Craig
Brougher's shop in Independence, Missouri.

Craig completed a 5'8" Knabe Louis XV model A for me last spring and
I am so thrilled with the XV (you can see it on his web site) that
I have decided not to restore the Knabe B but to sell it instead.
It is in Craig's queue to rebuild and in his shop so you will save
on transportation costs.

The piano was purchased in John Wanamaker's in New York City. (Yes,
there was a Wanamaker's in New York) on December 22, 1933, by a Mr.
Albert J. Bragg of Scarsdale, New York, presumably as a Christmas gift
for his wife. I have some original documentation and correspondence
between Mr. Bragg and the store with his charge account statement of
the purchase price and the purchase of some rolls.

The piano is in a beautiful case that I am told is blocked English
walnut. There is no matching bench. The piano is "virgin" and has
never rebuilt previously; the ivory is original and perfect. Serial
number is 108614.

My asking price is $7,000 or best offer, as is, where is. You can get
a much more learned opinion of the piano from Craig Brougher; write to
