Unknown Musical Box Mechanism with 3 Bells
By Renaissance Le Corbeau

Greetings again, A few months back I bought a music box mechanism that
is in serious need of cleaning, a box and probably some fixing, too.
The price was right so I took the risk in buying it and hope to get it
in working order. Below I attach a link to a couple of pictures:
http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/houseofmaktub/album?.dir=/6f72scd

Looking at it I think some bits are missing: the wind-up handle, to
start with, which I hope to be able to replace.

My question is does anyone have a picture of a similar music box that
I could look at. The reason is I want to see what sort of box these
came in so I can make one that fits the mechanism. I would like to
have a closer look at a mechanism of this kind, too, which may give me
some clue as to what is missing.

I bought the "Restoring Music Boxes..." book, which will help me, but
it does not contain a photo of a music box with 3 bells like this one.
I had a quick look to see if I could identify who made the mechanism,
but have come up empty-handed (maybe due to the grime). Is there a
specific place were they used to mark mechanisms with a makers name?

With regards,
Ren - Renaissance Le Corbeau
