FS: 10-tune German Hurdy-gurdy
By Bob Garner

-- forwarded message, please reply to sender and MMD --

For sale: A turn-of-the-century hand-cranked German hurdy-gurdy or air
calliope on wheels. (The wheels can come off if only a music "box" is
desired.) It has sixteen wooden pipes and plays ten old German tunes.

I had it fully restored and it is very durable, in excellent condition
and performs incredibly well! This piece was made around 1900 in
Rottweil, Germany, by a clock maker who sold it to an organ grinder.
I found it and bought it in 1991 and had it restored at that time.

The main "box" is 27 inches high and 13-1/2 inches deep/wide and, with
wheels attached, it is 42" high and easy to roll. On the main "box",
around the cut out for the air pipes, there are very colorful "relief"
paintings of flowers. I had the color of the paintings "restored"
as well.

If you would like some photos of this piece, please contact
<jcjjones@aol.com> and she will forward them on per your request.
I am asking $6,500 for it and I will pay for shipping. If the buyer
is close enough (6-10 hour drive away), I'll personally "deliver" it.
Thank you very much.
