Restoring Aeolian Player Organ
By Mike Green

-- non-subscriber, please reply to sender and MMD --

Hi. I am in the process of trying to get an organ back into operation.
The original opus number was 856. It was returned back to Aeolian for
additions in about 1905, and returned as number 975. After supplying
power to the blower motor and manufacturing new bellows for the main
air supply, I have got basic operation out of it.

It has an Aeolian roll player installed which I have not tested yet,
as I wish to get the keyboard operating first. Only about half the
keyboard notes work, even after the electrical contacts were cleaned
and some of the instrument selections do not appear to operate.

As far as knowledge of the player, I am a neophyte, but have a good
background in electro-mechanical contraptions after serving all my
working life on the road as a service tech in the CNC machine tool
industry. I found you on the web site during the process of searching
for info related to the Aeolian organ.

I would like to contact like minded people who are familiar with this
instrument, and, hopefully find an electrical wiring diagram of the
keyboard and associated solenoid interface. If you can assist me in
tracking down people who would be able to help me, I would forever be
in your debt. Many thanks for your consideration.

Very best regards,
Mike Green
