"Ice Cream" & "Constantinople"
By Rein Schenk

In the 070228 I read Bob Conant's comments about the arrangement of the
melody "Constantinople" on his Wilhelm Bruder Söhne organ. I assume
that the tune he refers to was arranged by Carl Frei. I may be wrong
in this case, but I have several recordings of several organs where the
chorus of both the tunes "Ice Cream" and "Constantinople" (very popular
at the end of the twenties of the last century) are made into one tune
in the same book, plus a repeat. It is possible that the arrangement on
Bob Conant's WBS is similar, which accounts for the confusion.
