New Solenoid Player Piano Systems
By Terry Smythe

A Home Expressions Show is going on this weekend at our downtown
convention center here in Winnipeg. A local piano dealer, Richard
Creasy, has fitted a new Heintzman grand with a new solenoid player
system called PianoForce that he acquired at the recent NAMM show,
a very neat package, certainly superior performance to my mid-1970s
Marantz Pianocorder. See their web site: http://www.pianoforce.com/

Also, starting with tidbits of information at the AMICA Convention
in Chicago last July, I've been hearing little bits of information
about a new solenoid type player system purported to be something new
emerging from Wayne Stahnke. While poking around the 'net this
evening, I noted an announcement by the Brodman Piano Co that at the
forthcoming Musikmesse in Frankfurt, March 28, they announce:

"Brodmann also introduces together with Dr. Wayne Stahnke
'Concerto' -- the world's newest player piano system."

See http://www.brodmann-pianos.com/top_right.html

Has anybody had any experience with these two systems? Are they
available in kit form? Ease of installation? Any feeling for price
yet? Performance comparison?

Regards,
