My First Street Organ
By Justin Senneff

-- non-subscriber, please reply to sender and MMD --

Hello again, I would like to announce that I acquired a 20-reed Concert
roller street organ on Thursday, July 20th (coincidence, huh!). It was
restored by the famous Stan Peters. The outside facade was kept in its
original condition.

The roller organ, along with a Celestina, reed organ and Chiappa barrel
organ, was sold in an estate sale where purchased by Fred Williams up
in Monticello, Iowa. So then I answered an advertisement in the AMICA
Bulletin (the one with the kitten on the front). So three weeks or so
later I am writing this article.

I got a cart for the organ from Harbor Freight Hardware in Pasadena,
California, and I put it together that same day. There are currently
four original cobs that came with the organ when I bought it. The cobs
are "In The Sweet Bye and Bye," "Gay Life's 1 and 5" and "Nearer my God
to Thee". Some of the picks on the cobs are missing so I might get
reproduction cobs when I have the money.
