Auction of Fine Music Boxes, London, 11/20/2007
By Laurence Fisher

Bonhams, in Knightsbridge, will hold an auction of fine mechanical
music items on November 20, 2007. You are invited to preview this sale
Sunday, November 18, 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., Monday, November 19, 9:00
a.m.-7:00 p.m., and on the morning of the sale from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.

This sale captures the magic of fine musical gold automata, two fine
grand-format boxes, two piano-forte musical boxes, three good inter-
changeable boxes, and many other sought-after and popular examples.
The singing bird box selection spans fourteen lots, including a superb
Jaquet-Droz box from ca. 1795, an enamel-cased timepiece alarm by
Marguerat, and a fusee-driven tortoise shell box signed by J. Brugier.

The auction will start at twelve noon sharp. A free online catalogue
for this sale (sale number 15238) can be found on the Bonhams website:
http://www.bonhams.com. If you prefer to order a paper catalogue,
please telephone 01666 502 200 or to subscribe, e-mail
subscriptions@bonhams.com.geentroep (deleting .geentroep)

I hope you will enjoy this sale, the first I have conducted under the
Bonhams banner.
