Adjusting Music Box Comb
By Joy Fleischer

-- non-subscriber, please reply to sender and MMD --

Is there a set way of tightening the screws that hold the comb of a
music box, so that it is not too close or a bit too far away from the
cylinder?

I have an old one that I tried to change the comb on, since it was
missing about four teeth. I tried using a comb from another box that
was a similar size, but the newer comb did not work. Now when I put
the old one back, it is difficult to adjust properly.

Can combs be purchased anywhere as replacements for replace old ones
with missing teeth? The exact placement of the comb is what I am
having trouble with. Any comments would be helpful.
