Player Piano at Biltmore Estate
By Dick Merchant

It's also been many years since I toured the mansion; more than 20,
I think. I do distinctly remember two of their pianos. One was
an ornate Steinway grand (not a player) in what I believe was the
ballroom. It had the look of a Steinway of the late 1800's and was
at least a 7' grand. I rather think it was longer: 8 or 9 feet.

The other piano was a baby grand Ampico but it wasn't in a place where
I could get close to it. I think it may have been in a room the public
could go into.
