Aeolian 116-note Player Pipe Organ Console Tabs
By Howard Towlson

Hi. I have an Aeolian 116-note pipe organ console which has a tab
marked "pedal augment" which when activated closes a set of contacts
in the lower part of the console. However, I cannot hear any
difference in the sound in either the manual or roll playing mode.
What is this tab suppose to do?

A second question: I play 58-note rolls by merely using only one
manual, which is okay except when you try to use the crescendo pedal
which brings on the stops on both manuals so you cannot use the
crescendo pedal. I have seen another Aeolian console which has a tab
marked "58 note". I assume this will allow playing 58-note rolls on
a 116-note roll player without any problems.

How is this tab wired in? It would seem that this should be a simple
modification to make.

Thanks.
