Seek Coinola Slide Valve Lever Linkage
By Stephen Kent Goodman

Hello everyone, My upright "A" roll Coinolas are missing the manual
shutoffs operated by a slide valve lever. I am making copies based
upon the one present in my Midget Orchestra which plays an "O" roll.
The most obvious difference is there is no distance between the shut
off lever and the slide block.

The uprights (A roll), have an under-the-front pilaster on either
side on/off lever but the space for the shut off blocks are located
approximately 5 to 6 inches away from them on the music rest board.
It is obvious that some type of linkage was used between the pilaster
lever and slide-block. I have no idea whether it was flat stock that
was riveted to swivel or perhaps a threaded rod (like the linkage found
in standard player pianos) to affect the slide valve operation.

Does anyone have and upright Coinola with this type of distance slide
block to lever operation that they could send me a picture of and
tell me the type of linkage used? Of all the Coinolas I have restored
I have never encountered this before.
