Repairing Wire-reinforced Rubber Hose
By Bruce Clark

[ In 090713 MMDigest, Edward Baylis asked about a source for the
 [ Ampico wire-reinforced 3/8" ID supply hoses.

I am assuming that you are referring to the 3/8-inch hoses on the
right end of the Ampico drawer. In the old days, we did not have
wire-reinforced 3/8" supply hoses. Instead, we noted where the
bend was located when the drawer was closed, cut the hose at the
bend, and installed 3/8" elbows.

As I recall, these hoses are notorious to become disconnected.
We cemented them in place with a dab of adhesive that would adhere
to the metal and the rubber.
