Tracing a Wurlitzer 105 Band Organ's History
By Jim Quashnock

I am restoring a Wurlitzer 105 band organ. I have no information on
its history other than that it started life playing music for an Allan
Herschell carousel. I found an advertisement taped on the back door
for "Frank Organ & Calliope Shop" in Chicago. A little online research
did pull up a similar ad in "The Billboard" magazine for March 28,
1942. On one of the armatures on the stack, I found written "March
1957 R.H. House."

With these two bits of information, I'm making the assumption that at
one time the instrument was in the Chicago area and was either owned by
or maintained by an R.H. House. Do any of you old-timers out there
(which includes me) recall an R.H. House who may have owned a Wurlitzer
105 band organ? I know this is a long shot, but right now that's the
only information I have.

Thanks,
Jim Quashnock
