Bird Box Logo "C B" is Bontems Variant
By Frank Metzger
The signature stamp Moe Goldy refers to, "C B" with a bird cage between
the C and B, is probably a variation on the stamp used by Bontems in
the 1875 to 1885 period. Often the stamp was B(Blaise) B(Bontems) with
a bird cage between.
Perhaps a wrong stamp was used, or it was another member of the family
but, in any case, it was primarily Bontems who used the "birdcage
between two initials" convention for marking his bird boxes.

[ "C B" is possibly Charles Jules Bontems, son of Blaise Bontems.
