Installing an Auto-Rewind System
By Eliyahu Shahar

Hi all, Installing an auto-rewind system for a foot-pumped player
shouldn't be too hard except that wherever you place the rewind
control on the tracker bar may likely cause it to flip into rewind
on some other roll. For example, the expression controls for an
Ampico co-incide with where Duo-Art put their auto-rewind (and probably
vice-versa though I haven't checked this out).

I would say follow the convention of putting it in the high treble
and make sure your rolls have that hole punched at the end of them.
It is not important where, and you can see that on modern QRS rolls --
at least they have several holes punched for rewind (just catch one
of them!).

Hooking it up physically, well this will take a bit of mechanical
thought. You want to make it so that the pneumatic pushes the control
in the direction of rewind. In this case you can add a sleeve to the
rod connecting the lever to the transmission _anywhere_ you want to
down the line and simply push on that sleeve with the pneumatic.

I hope that it's clear; basically my answer is "do whatever you want",
you will likely have a problem no-matter where you put the control
(on one or more rolls), but you find the place, tape over the note and
get on with it...
