Musical Box Sound Volume is Weak
By Al Lewin

My Stella disc musical box sounds weak when compared to another
box. Can the volume this box produces be adjusted (in some
manner or another)?

Also, upon careful inspection of the box, I discovered that the
sound board was cracked from one end to the other. I cut a 3" strip
of pine and glued it into the slot I cut, with minor improvement.

The comb and related dampers and all mechanics are heavily in
lubricant. Should this oil and grease be wiped out or dissolved out?
Any suggestions will be very appreciated.
