MIDI Control for Funeral Home Organ
By John Nolte

We are restoring a Wangerin player organ, their standard funeral home
organ with a standard 88-key player piano mechanism set up to play the
organ. Our client has only a few rolls and would like to have MIDI
capability.

We are considering two options, either (1) tap into the player
mechanism with an electric valve box controlled by the MIDI system
so rolls could still be played, or (2) remove the roll mechanism
completely and add a new Peterson ICS 4000 system, saving the pneumatic
mechanism for posterity.

I am looking for information and advice from the collective wisdom
of the MMDigest readers.
