I have an unusual project I'm hoping someone might be able to help me
with.  It's an invention, sort of a cross between an 8-key piano and a
lap steel guitar.  

I want to incorporate a set of eight solenoids (a la Pianomation) into
this instrument that would be triggered by an off-the-shelf MIDI
controller.  I won't have any need to record.
