John McClelland Hospitalized
By Ken Long

I just received notice from Carol Schwendimann today that prior
North Texas Chapter AMICA member and mechanical music enthusiast,
John McClelland, has been in intensive care in St. Vincent Hospital
in Santa Fe, New Mexico, since July 6, 2010. He will continue to be
in intensive care for an unknown amount of time.

John was struck by an oncoming car as he was riding his BMW motorcycle.
The extent of his injuries is great. He has undergone two surgeries
and is having another surgery tomorrow morning. His doctors advised
that his surgeries and recovery will be a long term process over
a period of at least months or possibly years. More surgeries will be
required as well as extensive rehabilitation therapy.

A web site has been created at http://www.caringbridge.com for John. You
can access it on the Internet. Once you access the site, they ask for
a site name which is johnmcclelland. You enter an email address and
a password that you create. There will be daily postings on his health
and recovery. You may also post messages to the site and they will be
read to him. He is not able to effectively communicate at this time.

You may contact Carol Schwendimann in Santa Fe at 1-505-982-9256 (home)
or cell phone 1-505-670-1002 or email Andale304@aol.com.geentroep
[delete ".geentroep" to reply].
