Building a Reiterating Drum Beater Mechanism
By Bill Clark

With a little help and inspiration from my new friends, I now have
a bass drum, a cymbal and a snare drum that are rattling out beats
and back beats on my band organ. All of the MIDI files I'm using have
been taken from various places on the Web and I'm finding them all to
be different when I try to map in the percussion lines.

I'm curious -- is there is any kind of standard for the layout of drum
parts in particular? Where should they be on the staff, and is there
a normal MIDI channel that they should be assigned to?

Thanks
Bill Clark
