Duo-Art Won't Play Chords Softly
By Larry Norman

Hi all, I am surprised that no one has mentioned this information before.
Unfortunately the roll in question, "Claire de Lune", is behind some
stuff and I have not been able to play it.

However, I have three Duo-Art test rolls (1919, 1920-1921 and Duo-Art
test roll number 3) and on all three test rolls when you come to the
Accompaniment settings it says the following:

"To set the Accompaniment at zero these notes should play..."
"When Accompaniment is set properly at 0, these notes should
not play or an occasional note may play..."

On page 24 of the Duo-Art service manual, in the first paragraph it
says, "It will be noticed that the loud pedal is on with the first
run of notes, making them easier to play, then off with the next run,
making them harder to play because of the weight of the damper lever.
On the first run, notes should play very softly, and on the next run,
most of them should miss or skip."

I hope that answers the question. I will try to find that roll and
play it and see.

Musically,
Larry Norman - from the Blue Ridge where big winds, thunderstorms,
rain and some tornadoes are predicted. Hopefully they will miss us
here in Virginia.
