Hide Glue vs. Silicone for Rebuilding a Pianola
By Grant Chapman, NY

Robbie was kind enough to provide a link to the data sheet for the
subject RTV102 in 110322 MMDigest. So, quoting the data sheet, we get,
"These sealants are not for use in delicate electrical and electronic
applications in which corrosion of copper, brass or other sensitive
metals is undesirable."

Our contracts forbid the use of this family of RTV in and around metals
such as zinc, lead, tin, coppers (brasses and bronzes). We also forbid
their use in and around "electronics" as well.
