Art-Echo Apollo Rollography
By Rich Schommer

For over 30 years I've been trying to complete a list of the 4000
series popular rolls for Artecho / Apollo. There just isn't anyone
else who is very interested in it. I have listings for 436 rolls out
of a total of roughly 780 in the 4000 popular series. There were about
another 800 rolls issued in the Classical 1000, 2000 and 3000 series.

The basic roll numbers are the same for Artecho and Apollo labels. All
Artecho rolls start with an R, and the Apollo rolls have an extra price
code added to the end. Artecho roll R4243 is the same as Apollo roll
4243-5.

I've managed to find catalog listings that cover everything from 4001
to 4451. The last catalog didn't list roll number 4446, and I don't
believe rolls were ever issued from 4324 to 4399. I've never been able
to get copies of any roll bulletins. The highest number I have listed
is 4839. It's probably from 1931 or 1932.

I have information for only about 60 rolls between 4452 and 4839.
I lost some data when my hard drive crashed a year ago. I can't find
the notes I'd made on some listings, and others came directly from eBay
auctions, etc., and I never had any notes. I've learned my lesson on
backing up data...

I'll be glad to share what I've got with anyone who's interested. I'm
not sure it's worth posting the list when roughly half the information
is missing.

If anyone is willing to send me their Artecho / Apollo roll lists I'll
add it to what I've got. I haven't had much luck in the past. Maybe
there's some interest now.
