Wurlitzer 155 CD "Music for Carousel Lovers"
By John Merchant

I should note that tune 3 on the CD, "The Waltz of the Zebras,"
was identified as "Smarty" on YouTube by Andrew Park (wurlitzer165).
I only passed it on to the rest of the community via the MMD.

[ Tune 11, "The Royal Lion's March", reminds me of "Lights Out!"
 [ by E. E. McCoy, 1906. Maybe they're related.
 [
[ Art Reblitz pointed out to me why the rather unique scale of the
[ Wurlitzer 155 "Monster" is so well suited to perform Sousa's
[ "The Stars and Stripes Forever" (tune 7): (1) The brass trombone
[ and brass trumpet divisions taken together make a rank of brass
[ reed pipes which can play all the notes of Sousa's countermelody,
[ and (2) the piccolo division is 1-1/2 octaves span, completely
[ chromatic, separate from the melody division. Hear it at
