Rebuilding Tournaphone Organette, Floor Model
By Craig Smith

Hello MMD Folks, Well, the inquiry about the Cabinetto got me
thinking about my own Tournaphone. I've had it for many years but
it has never played. I'm sure that you remember the story about
the shoe maker's children...

A couple years ago, my wife 'encouraged' me to fix some of my own
stuff instead of spending all my time restoring stuff for other
people. I have made some progress, but these things do take time.

So, I thought it was high time that I got the Tournaphone working,
and a couple days ago I pulled it all the way out and opened it up.
I did some work on it when I got it but I discovered that several
parts are missing, namely the Pitman arms that connect the main
crank shaft to each of the three bellows, the little blocks on top of
the bellows, and the 'brace' that holds the top open while you change
the roll.

I asked the owner for some pictures of the Cabinetto but it is quite
different from my Tournaphone. My machine is a floor standing
Tournaphone with space for eight rolls behind a door below the roll
and bellows part. It's pictured in Kevin's great "Organette Book",
figure 524. If you have this machine, please send me a note so
I can ask a few questions.

Thanks for your help.
