Tracker Bar Pump Maintenance
By Eliyahu Shahar

The tracker bar pump can be unscrewed to clean the filter, which I do
every time I use it. The leather seal in mine has always been perfect,
but I'm sure it could be replaced with valve leather (it would probably
need thick valve leather). The instructions that came in my Ampico
tracker bar pump box say to treat it with a little Vaseline.

The rubber tip can still be ordered at Player Piano Company; I ordered
one just yesterday!

A question that I've always had and wondered if anyone knows the answer
-- why do we find tracker bar pumps from the Ampico only? Is there a
pump from any other piano out there?
