Music Media Scanners & Transcribing Machines
By John McClelland

Greetings All, Thank you everyone who responded to my query about
rolls scanners past and present. Presently there appears to be about
thirty hardy souls who are busily copying rolls into electronic format.
(I'm reminded of monks in a scriptorium; but that's another tale!)
I'm also impressed at the diversity of effort: from Hupfeld 73-note
to book music to reproducing pianos and orchestrions and Violano rolls.

I encourage more to get involved in the effort, as the paper is not
getting any younger.

Thanks again,
John McClelland
