Seek Mechanical Music Panel at San Diego Steampunk Convention

"Gaslight Gathering 2: The Expedition" is a steampunk and Victoriana
convention that will be held 11-13 May 2012 at the Town & Country
Hotel in San Diego, California.  We are very interested in having a
formal panel presentation at our convention regarding mechanical music
devices, as well as outdoor performances on our Steam Arena Stage.

Our event runs from noon on Friday, May 11, through Sunday, May 13,
2012, ending at approximately 5 p.m.  Sunday is traditionally our
Victoriana Day with much of the programming and events themed toward
the historically accurate rather than the fantasy that steampunk is
based on.

We are looking for three or four individuals who would be willing
to lead a lively panel discussion on the history of mechanical
music, especially as it pertains to the Victorian era, complete with
demonstrations.  Some of the more portable pieces like those used for
street entertainment (e.g., organ grinders) would be very well
received.

Additionally, we would also like demonstrations of your machines at
our outdoor Steam Arena stage prior to or after your discussion panel.
This is a more informal venue and sing-a-longs are always appreciated
and will ensure that more of our attendees are exposed to your
mechanical wonders.

In exchange for your participation, we can offer free membership for
our event for the weekend for both the panel participant and a guest,
up to a total of eight full memberships.  A full memberships is
currently valued at $50.  We can also put a business card size
advertisement in our programming book and a link on our web site
advertising your organization.

Gaslight Gathering is a fully recognized 501c(3) organization that is
completely volunteer organized and operates under the aegis of the
California Association for the Advancement of Speculative Media, Inc.
(CAASM, Inc.), a California non-profit benefit corporation.
