Music Roll Perforator Used By Pierre Eich
By Dale F. Rowe

Dear Björn, Greetings from The Bronx, NY, USA. What you had
described was most likely a "Star" perforator. It had the appearance
of what you might call a typewriter. Instead of punching individual
holes, the Star perforator has 88 separate note punches and one punch
for the sustaining pedal. I have no idea if it was available for any
other roll scale, other than 88-note rolls.

MMDigest articles about the Star perforator are indexed at
http://www.mmdigest.com/Archives/KWIC/S/star.html

I hope these help,

Sincerely,
Dale F. Rowe
