Irene diGiovanni, Last Surviving Reproducing Artist
By Robert Perry

Hi all, I recently tracked down the grandson of Welte, Ampico,
and Duo-Art artist Irene diGiovanni (sometimes spelled d'Giovanni)
and discovered she died on 15 October 2002, aged 99. This means she
survived the chronologically gifted Leo Ornstein by about 7 months.

I wonder if this makes her the very last of the last reproducing roll
artists? She is also an extreme rarity having recorded for all three
major reproducing player systems.
