Mason-Hamlin Upright Foot-pumped Player Piano
By Richard Friedman

My understanding is that for a few years the Cable Company owned, or
at least had a majority stake in, Mason and Hamlin before selling it
to the American Piano Company in 1924. I'm sure some further research
will turn up the full story.

What I'd be curious to know is what name is cast into the plate on this
piano -- that is to say, is the piano a Mason & Hamlin with a Cable
player stack installed?

Richard Friedman
Upstate New York

[ The serial number reported, 164312, doesn't fit Mason & Hamlin
[ but it's in the list of Cable piano serial numbers for 1912.
[ Is it perhaps a Cable Co. piano with a "Mason & Hamlin" label?
