Ampico A Take-up Spool Leaking
By Duaine Hechler

I'm still having a problem sealing an Ampico A take-up spool. Can
anyone give me explicit instructions on what was used to get this
thing to seal?

I've tested the switch by manually blocking the hole in the spool
mounting shaft. It does not seem to be leaking, and the piano does
not turn off. But when I put on the take-up spool, immediately the
piano turns off.

On the replay setting, it seems both sides of the bellows wants to be
activated at the same time. What is possibly wrong? I'm thinking,
something in the valve block? How can you tell if the spool has seen
its better days?

Oh yeah, on this last service call, I found the drive/reroll chain off
and partially wrapped around the front gear. How is that possible?

P.S.: The owner is driving me nuts!
