Roll Scanning
By Bill Klinger

I have two scanners up and running and mainly have been scanning
private collections for their owners.

Regular piano rolls can take up to fifteen minutes to scan. Then the
files have to be converted to MIDI, and if the rolls are not in good
condition, a manual repair to either the image or music file takes
additional time.

I have responded to numbers of requests to scan boxes of rolls, none of
which have materialized. As winter approaches, scanning time will be
available.

Private collections remain the property of the owner, unless they ask
that the rolls be shared.
