Voicing a Melody Violin Pipe
By Bill Clark

My first trip to a rally was last months COAA show at Quassy. My
family enjoyed seeing and hearing the other organs and we had some fun
riding the bumper cars and the roller coaster. It was an opportunity
for me to see some other music makers and I was made to feel quite
welcome by all. It was a good group.

Somewhat tongue in cheek, I was told that if I should come back in two
years, I should bring a machine that is bigger and louder than the home
built I brought. I've started that quest and, following the instructions
in Robert Stanoszek's Wurlitzer book, I have a Melody Violin pipe that,
with its frein harmonique, cleanly speaks the fundamental. The problem
is, it is missing the harmonics and prettiness of the violin pipe.

I expect my question might be difficult to answer without seeing the
pipe, but is there something else I can read, do, or learn about that
might help me make this pipe speak properly?
