Reproduco "Catch-All Tracker Cleaner"
By Tom Lear

Hi Guys, As far as I know, the Catch-All Tracker Cleaner was not an
after-market addition, but was a standard fitting on all Reproducos
with the 88-note tracker bar. There has been a lot of posts over
the years about removing debris from the tracker bar -- inline filter
systems, use of vacuum pumps, etc. -- but surprisingly no mention of
the Catch-All system, which keep the debris from getting into the
tracker bar in the first place.

Given the interest in keeping the junk out of the tracker bar, I
figured some enterprising tech would have duplicated and marketed this
type of system by now. The Reproduco box pump runs at a bit over 30"
vacuum. The Catch-All system does not adversely affect the vacuum.

As to the mounting brackets rubbing on the doors, I don't have the
single roll tracker box so I don't know exactly what to tell you.
Maybe it was remounted at some point and the brackets are not in the
right position or were changed?

If the upper panel holding the doors is like my unit, then it is hinged
at the top, so you can tilt the music rack. Pulling the bottom of the
rack away from the piano, should keep the doors from rubbing on the
cleaner bar brackets.

On most uprights there is a lever on one or both sides near the bottom
of the music rack, under tension, to hold the rack in the tilted
position. If your Reproduco does not have this system, then look on
the middle bottom backside of the rack -- there should be a 1-1/2" X 1'
piece of wood on a single screw that pivots into position to hold the
music rack away from the fully closed position.

I wouldn't hesitate to route the back of doors if that is still
necessary to keep them from dragging on the Catch-All brackets.

Hope this helps,
Tom Lear
