Mechanical Music Auction in Cologne 24 Nov. 2012
By Uwe Breker

Dear MMDs, Our next Mechanical Music auction takes place on
24 November in Cologne, Germany. This is a large sale of over
700 lots, of which around 150 are dedicated to mechanical music:
cylinder and disc musical boxes, organs, organettes, automata from
the Decamps family collection, phonographs and singing birds,
as well as discs, motors, memorabilia and other useful 'extras'.

A few of the highlights include: a Symphonion 'Gambrinus' (with
the original terracotta figure!), a fine chevron-sectional-comb
gold snuff box, a gold and diamond-set enamel musical compact by
Faberge jeweler August Frederick Hollming, a beautiful 52-key
Gasparini fairground organ with original paint, a Chinoiserie
portable street barrel piano, an Edison Idelia phonograph and
a rare Vichy acrobat on stilts automaton.

The catalogue is available to view at http://www.breker.com/
Bidding is in person, by telephone, commission bid or on-line.
You can watch and listen to the mechanical music in action on
