Reproducing Pianos Owned by Royalty
By Lester Wolff

I read with interest about "Beatrice" and the pianos history.
I have a collection of Ampico rolls (most are sealed and unplayed)
that came from a Sotheby's Auction in 1997 of the effects of the
Duke and Duchess of Windsor.

All of the rolls have tags that say Duke and Duchess of Windsor,
which leads me to ask if anyone knows what kind of Ampico piano
they had, and what happened to it. I have a copy of the Ampico
Magazine, Winter 1920, that tells in great detail of the Duke's
visit to New York. Did he acquire an Ampico piano while here?
