Smithsonian Carousel and Band Organ
By Andrew Park

Hi MMDers, This discussion has been abandoned until now regarding
the carousel and band organ at the Smithsonian, see

  http://www.mmdigest.com/Archives/Digests/200010/2000.10.30.01.html

Here's a video of the carousel at the National Mall, circa 1989.
At that time the Wurlitzer 153 unfortunately played at a breakneck
speed:

Who knows when the band organ could be restored to playing condition?
Everyone will be surprised that it's recorded, but much louder, and
with more depth and oomph. Recorded music has little detail, but a
live band organ has more.

Maybe MMDers could chime in about this discussion, since it has been
abandoned for more than 14 years! Wow!
