Seek Gearmotor Drive for Band Organ Crankshaft
By Tony Marsico

Hi all. I have a Wurlitzer 153 band organ I have discovered is
too tall for the basement and garage in my new house. I was so happy
that it would take all my pianos (10 of them) plus most of the other
paraphernalia from my storage area that I forgot about ceiling height.

I can't get it into the basement so right now it is residing in the
garage and I don't have room to put the speed reduction wheel mechanism
on top of the organ. As I have 50 Wurlitzer rolls that I have heard
very few of, I would like to install one of those gear mechanisms that
bolt to the side of the organ and drive the organ crank.

I thought about pulling the organ outside on its dolly and assembling
it when I wanted to hear it but it's a very quiet neighborhood and I
doubt the neighbors for a block in all directions would appreciate it.
I could play it in the garage/shop with one of those gear boxes,
although I hate to do it with the new quartered oak case I built for it.

Where do you get those gear drives? How much do they cost?

Is anyone interested in the ten mostly reproducing grands or uprights
I have? Please write or call.

Thanks,

Tony Marsico
