Automatic Music Event in Binghamton, NY, 20 June
By Susan Sherwood

Dear friends of automatic music, We'd like your help in promoting
the regular automatic music events in Binghamton, New York, -- in
Harvey Roehl's neighborhood -- a few miles from the Vestal Press and
a few blocks from the site of Automatic Musical Company and Link Piano
Company. Mike McKilligan and Mike Roseboom help with advice and Rusty
King, from New Jersey, is helping us with piano tweaking and tuning.

The next automatic music event is Saturday, 20 June 2015, at
TechWorks!, 321 Water Street, Binghamton, where live musicians will
accompany player pianos 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and our Link Automatic Piano
will be in action, followed by a tour of the Forum Theatre Organ, lead
by the restoration team at Binghamton Theatre Organ Society. The event
is hosted as part of the "I Love NY - Paths Through History Weekend".

We invite any of your members or friends to join in the fun on June
20th, either as a musician or in the audience. A flyer with musician
list is to follow shortly. Please be in touch with Charlotte O'Dea,
Marketing Manager, email above, telephone below, for events information
and with me for instruments/technical/collection questions.

Attached is photo of Link Automatic Piano at TechWorks!, with Rusty
King, restorer; Simplex mechanical action, and Link flight simulator
parts, which derived from Ed Link's observation sitting on organ
bellows that "this feels like flying." We have a 2-minute video
of Rusty explaining the mechanisms, as well as raw footage of how
to change an Link unending music roll.

A recent local TV piece on Link shows the player piano in action.
This should also be on our website at http://ctandi.org/news.html

We look forward to getting to know your members better. If Binghamton,
New York, is within your travel radius, we'd be delighted to host
a meeting of your group at TechWorks!, including help with group
discounts at the Double Tree Hilton, located on Water Street, between
TechWorks! and the site of Automatic Music Co. and Link Piano Co.

Best regards,

Susan Sherwood, Executive Director
