Paine and Hopkins 14-note Barrel Organ Scale
By John Ravert, Sr.

I am restoring a Paine and Hopkins barrel organ. It has a scale of
14 pipes plus triangle. The pipes were out of order when I got it,
so they were placed in order according to the size of the foot and
length of the pipe. The pipes were tuned according to the markings
and it sounds terrible.

Does anyone have a picture of one showing the pipes or know of the
correct pipe order? There are two ranks of 14 pipes. The barrel
is reading properly, it just sounds awful. Please email me at
jgravert@windstream.net.geentroep [delete ".geentroep" to reply].

Thanks,
John Ravert
