Seek Shaft Position Encoders for Roll Scanning
By Robbie Rhodes

I'm planning to rebuild a simple piano roll transcribing machine to
easily accommodate music rolls that play for 30 minutes, such as Ampico
Jumbo rolls and orchestrion rolls. A separate wide-frame scanner for
transcribing pipe organ rolls is also planned.

In order to obtain a good estimate of effective paper thickness I need
several optical shaft position encoders, which will be used to measure
the paper distance and to count the revolutions of the input and output
spool shafts. Please contact me if you have encoders, measuring wheels
and other roll scanning components to sell.

Thanks,

Robbie Rhodes
