Loose Stoppers in 20-note Organ Pipes
By Bill Chapman

Hi Robbie, I decided to work on getting the stoppers out of the
bottom of the metal pipes of my 20-note organ. The low humidity here
in the desert caused them to shrink and drop to the bottom of the pipe.

I wrote the organ builder and he suggested turning a screw into the
top of the stopper by using a rod attached to a small wallboard screw
but there wasn't room to do this. I tried a crochet hook but it didn't
penetrate the hard wood. In desperation I used the vacuum cleaner to
suck out the stoppers from the pipes. Now they have a pin in the sides
that will prevent this problem.
