New Mills Violano Rolls Sound Bad
By Al Menashe

Can somebody explain why original Violano rolls sound so good, but
reproduction rolls (new ones) sound so bad. I don't think it is just
my machine. This is the second Mills Violano I have owned, and the
first one exhibited the same anomaly. I have bought new rolls from
several sources, all have the same bad sound.

Is it that the paper is thicker and the contacts just don't read right,
or are they new arrangements rather than exact copies of originals?

Thanks,
Al Menashe
