Aeolian Organ Duo-Art Roll Key Scroll Opus 1664
By Marshall Foxworthy

Hi, I have decided to let this piece of Aeolian history go to
someone who will preserve and protect its historical content, possibly
a museum. I have a few in mind.

This type of scroll was usually found in a cardboard tube tied to an
organ component near the Duo-Art jack box in the relay room. It showed
how the Duo-Art was wired for this specific organ. I have seen several
tubes in original installations but never the scroll. This came to me
via a Duo-Art cabinet player which has since found a new home. The
console for Opus 1664 is, I believe, part of the Blackstone Residence
organ.

The original organ was installed in 1927 for the White Chapel Memorial
Cemetery, Detroit, Michigan. At one time I also had a copy of the
Aeolian contract associated with this organ. As I understand its
history, a fire was the cause of its demise with some parts being
salvaged.

I am trying to establish a value for this item. I have had it since
1988. Any help on its value would be greatly appreciated.
