Converting Double-Valve Action to Single-Valve
By Luke Myers

Well, hello again. I just returned yesterday from a moving trip
to Colorado. Suffice it to say that it was fairly straightforward.
My question is for those of you who like to explore new territory:
has any one of you converted a double-valve stack to operate as a
single-valve stack? I am considering doing so to my original
double-valve Steger/Artemis stack.

Craig Brougher mentions his very own double-valve to single-valve stack
conversion in his MMD article, "Double Valve Player Piano Systems," at
http://www.mmdigest.com/Archives/Digests/199911/1999.11.03.04.html

If anyone cares to give suggestions or advice for doing/not doing so,
please let me know.

Al Pebworth sent me a video of an identical Steger stack which he
restored: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IHJsLjKB49k&feature=youtu.be

I consider this an accomplishment to be proud of, as that specific
design seems to be virtually non-existent. I have never run across
it in any other of the hundreds of player pianos I have seen for sale.
