Hello -- I have a collection of Aeolian Pipe Organ rolls, hand-picked
over a period of 15 years for use with my Aeolian Solo-Orchestrelle
player organ, for (quick) sale. They operate on pipe organs by Aeolian
as well if they handle the 10" approximate width rolls. (Aeolian
Duo-Art player pipe organs had a 15.25" paper width, but some organs
played both formats.)
My 1912 Model XY Solo-Orchestrelle with a Trumpet, English Horn and
PIZZICATO stop, involving little felt tipped 'hammers', was featured
in our music museum which ran from 1963 to 1986. Due to a miscarriage
of justice the organ was sold from under me, so the collection of
rolls, which has been in storage since then, could not be played.
At almost age 80, I am focusing on my player piano roll business --
Artcraft Music Rolls -- and decided to part with this collection.
Some of the titles were commissioned by Aeolian for their own
instruments: Victor Herbert, Engelbert Humperdinck and Moritz
Moszkowski, for example. Popular rolls include "The Bells of St.
Mary's" and "Smiles" by Lee S. Roberts.
I believe there are 200 or more in sealed boxes, but for a quick sale
I am asking $2000 for the lot plus shipping. I need to empty my
storage building and this work of moving prevents earning money in
between my monthly Social Security payments. The sale of that building
will jump-start my business which involves transporting my own rolls
for players by the 1000s and 1000s -- enough to keep me publishing
Artcraft titles until age 95.
If I can sell these rolls in a couple of days, I will do so, or, will
market them individually when time permits.
